Hello again, Funkabilly friends and fans!
Now, since I mentioned that it’s an election year and Mike Vullo has asked that I air my views here, I’ll offer this soliloquy: This is obviously a hotly contested contest, as they all are, and American opinion runs the gamut. The problem I have with this year’s engagement is, not so much the difference in opinion, but the level of involvement of misinformed, poorly read miscreants with no understanding of policy, the history that shapes it or the Constitution that we should be concerned with protecting. Mike echoes the feeling of many that all of
the hoopla over this election is getting more people involved and I agree
that the public The last thing I’ll say about politics, within this band, is that I am personally embarrassed for the intelligence quotient of apologists for self-important, revisionist, propagandists like Michael Moore. If anyone takes issue with anything stated here, my email box is always open to discuss factual, well researched information. NOW! Back to having some fun!
I’ve been to New York and, literally, walked
the island of Manhattan in one day (ouch, my aching feet) with Funkabilly
Chick (name withheld from publication on this site to keep her from killing
me!). We’ve also hit Alaska, Atlanta, Las Vegas for the well publicized birthday party for Bongo and are now packing to head out to Napa Valley. For anyone who gets the newsletter, you know I moved just in time for TWO hurricanes. Luckily, the home is pretty sturdy and I only lost one hubcap. I’ll keep this short, today as I’ve got to get ready for tonight’s impending throw-down at O’Hara’s, but I’ll be sure to update this, right after the election, as to remove the political crap that has no place here. Current Gear (Updated!) My main bass is a MTD 535-24 Serial # 227. Mike Tobias built this bass as a one-off for the Summer of 1997 NAMM show. Tom Snellgrove (who owns Music & More in Davie, FL www.premierguitars.com ) acquired this bass, new, sold it to me and has been trying to get it back every since! GOOD LUCK TOM!!! I've been playing Mike's basses since the mid '80s and this one is very special...one of a kind...I'm a very lucky guy. My main amp setup is a 1996 David Eden 500, that I also bought from Tom and have not been able to replace it. I've been through every amp imaginable and keep coming back to this one...must be love. Well, I finally broke down and traded my Bergantino 310 cabinet for the 322 cab, which is loaded with two 10s, a 12 and a horn, which is just the absolute danglies! This would be incomplete
if I didn't mention my trusty I’ll post some pictures up here, soon, of some of the more esoteric stuff I tinker with. This is Puddin’ Tain and I’ve approved this message.
